The remote-control transmission frequency generator can serve as a 6-bit PPG without
modification because the cycle and "H" width of the output waveform can be set independently.
Note, however, that since the effective range of values compared for "H" width is from "0" (duty
ratio of 0%) to the value compared for cycle (duty ratio of 100%), the smaller value compared
for cycle results in the lower resolution (the greater minimum step width of the duty ratio).
When the value compared for cycle is "2", for example, the acceptable value compared for "H"
width is "0", "1", or "2", resulting in a resolution of it 1/3. In this case, the duty ratio is 0%, 50%,
or 100%, respectively, and the minimum step of it is 50%.
The output frequency and duty ratio are obtained from the following equations:
