Backplane

The shelf backplane supports two hub slots, 12 node slots, and two SAM1620-Ds. This
AdvancedTCA backplane provides the IPMB and I
manager to all AdvancedTCA blades and the other FRUs. The backplane provides signal
routing for failover signals between active SAM and standby SAM. The power connectors
for the power entry modules are located on the backplane. The backplane is not a FRU.

Functional Layout

The backplane provides dual star base interface and dual star fabric interface connections
at each blade slot with segmented power (two power segments) provided by the dual
PEMs.
The blade slots are numbered physically from 1 to 14 going left to right along the front of
the shelf. Numbers on slots 6 and 9 designate the hub slots, refer to
65. Each slot also has a logical slot number that defines it for backplane connectivity,

logical slot numbers are not shown on the shelf. The backplane functional layout is shown
in the following figure.
