3. Loosen the captive screw on the RTM front panel using a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

4. Loosen the two RTM handle screws.
5. Squeeze the lever and the latch together of upper handle and push the handle fully
outward.
6. Remove interface cables from face plate connectors, if applicable.
7. Remove the RTM from the slot.

Node Blade Installation and Removal
The AXP1440-C07 shelf is designed to accommodate specific ruggedized blades with
special locking enhancements but is also fully compatible with standard ATCA blades.
Conversely, the ruggedized blades are not fully compatible with the AdvancedTCA
standard and are not designed to be used with other AdvancedTCA shelves. They are
specifically designed to be used with the AXP1440-C07.
It may be possible to ruggedize other standard ATCA blades so that they have the same
locking enhancements. Standard attachment blocks would need to be removed and
replaced with SMART EC locking attachment blocks. For specific details regarding locking
attachment blocks, please contact your local SMART EC sales representative.
