AXP1440-C07 Shelf Installation
There is one earth ground located at the back of the shelf.
There are three ESD bonding points, two on the front and one on the back of the
shelf.

Installing the Shelf

The AXP1440-C07 can be mounted in a 19" EIA frame using front mounting brackets and
appropriate slide rails, if required. For any assistance in determining the appropriate rail
system for your application, contact your local SMART EC sales representative. See
section
Mounting Options and Stabilization on page
Do not mount a single shelf at the top of the rack. A top-heavy rack can tip and cause
damage to equipment and injury to personnel.
Do not use the FTM handles or PEM handles for lifting the shelf.
Make sure you have the appropriate equipment to safely lift and mount the shelf
securely. To avoid personal injury or damage to the equipment, use two persons for
the installation procedure.

19" EIA Rack/Cabinet

5.4.1.1

Procedure - Install the Shelf in a Rack or Cabinet

To install in a 19" EIA rack/cabinet, follow these steps:
1. Install the rail system, if required, based on the manufacturer's recommended
procedure.
2. Install the shelf and rail system into the frame.
3. Tighten down the captive bolts into the frame using a 5/32" hex headed driver.
4. Torque the captive bolts to 2.5 N-m/22.1 in-lbs.
Failure to observe proper grounding practices may cause a variety of noise,
electrostatic discharge, and RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) problems.
