hardware to recognize it as the Active SAM1620-D. In response, the hardware
must set the ACTIVE bit. When the formerly active SAM1620-D restarts it
successfully establishes the connection with the current SAM1620-D and starts to
operate in the backup mode.

Alarm Functionality

The SAM1620-D provides Telco alarm functionality with the following components:
Alarm cutoff push button
DB15 alarm contacts

Alarm LEDs

7.5.1

Cutoff Push Button

The SAM1620-D provides an alarm cutoff function with the front panel push button switch
located on the ADP1440-D. This push button activates the alarm cutoff (ACO) state. When
ACO is activated, the active alarm LED blinks and all of the alarm relays are deactivated.
This button does not clear alarms. Refer to
alarm cutoff push button switch.
7.5.2
Alarm LEDs
These LEDs are used to indicate the presence of the critical, major, and minor alarms.
When a LED is lit, the respective alarm is active. A blinking LED signals an alarm cut-off
state which is initiated by pressing the alarm cut-off button when an alarm is active.

Alarm Interface

The SAM1620-D provides a front-panel alarm connector, which is a standard DB-15
connector with the following pin assignments:
