6.1.3 Paper Tray Setup

The paper size sensor in the paper tray and auxiliary tray (Figure 1) is
actuated by the position of the button and actuator tab on the paper
tray. The button is always in the #3 position. Movement of the paper
length block shifts the position of the actuator tab in the #1 position.
NOTE: Position #4 in the paper size sensor is not used to sense paper
size. This portion of the sensor is shorted closed (low) and is used by the
terminal circuitry to indicate that an auxiliary tray option is installed.

actuated by the position of the button and actuator tab on the paper
width guide. The button is always in the #2 position. Movement of the
paper width guide shifts the position of the actuator tab in the #3
position.
NOTE: Position #4 in the paper size sensor is not used to sense paper
size.
This portion of the sensor is shorted (low) and is used by the
terminal circuitry to determine when an auxiliary tray option is installed.
