PROBE POSITIONS
YELLOW wire
BLACK/YELLOW Chassis
wire ground
BLACK wire
If resistance readings are as specified, repair or
replace connector or wiring between the stator
connector and the voltage regulator connector.
If a resistance reading is not as specified, the sta-
tor or the wiring is shorted to ground and needs to
be repaired or replaced.
Reinstall removed connectors.
Stator Output Voltage Test
Test at Voltage Regulator/Rectifier Connector
Disconnect the voltage regulator connector.

1. Disconnect voltage regulator/rectifier connector
Set multimeter to Vac scale.

Start engine.
Connect multimeter between each pair of YEL-
LOW wires.

REGULATOR/RECTIFIER CONNECTOR
RESISTANCE
@ 20°C (69°F)
Read voltage.
STATOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE TEST AT VOLTAGE
Infinity
(open circuit)
TEST ENGINE
4000 RPM
If voltage is lower than specification, repeat test
at stator connector.
Test at Stator Connector
Disconnect the stator connector.
Install the three pin stator harness adaptor con-
necting only to the stator harness side. Do not
connect to the main rear harness side.
