You can name the input labels from the CONFIG > Graticules and Readouts
> Input Labels menu. Once you are in the Input Labels menu, select an input
and then press the SEL button. A dialog box will appear allowing you to name
the input.
Your instrument can monitor two separate signals simultaneously when Option
CAM is installed. In this mode, the instrument display is divided into two sides,
each with two tiles per input. This allows you to conveniently view measurement
and status displays from two signals at the same time.
SIM is also ideal for monitoring stereoscopic 3D content in production and post
production applications by simultaneously monitoring the Left Eye signal and the
Right Eye signal. (See page 30, 3D Input Monitoring.)
If one or both of the signals being monitored is a 3G signal, they need to be on
numerically different inputs or a trace resource limitation will occur. For example,
3G on Input 1A and 3G on Input 2A; or 3G on Input 1B and HD on Input 2A.
However, there are no resource constraints for 3G Level B 2X HD 1A.1 and 1A.2
or both monitoring channels being set to the same input (Option 3G is required
for 3G-SDI formats).
Connect signals for simultaneous monitoring the same way you would for
connecting two SDI signals. (See Figure 6 on page 20.)
