Basic test
TAKE CARE!
The tests described are the minimum recommendations. It is the responsibility of the repairer(s) to carry
out other tests depending on the cause of the error that has been repaired and the model of the chair.
The maintenance manual for the chair includes detailed information on other tests. Lifestand declines any
responsibility in the event of any losses arising from undertaking the tests described or that other relevant
tests have not been carried out.
These test must be undertaken in an open space. Any fastening device, such as a seat belt, must always
be used. Lifestand declines any responsibility in the event of losses arising from the failure to respect
these recommendations.
At the end of a repair, the following test should be carried out. These are the minimum recommendations.
Depending on the cause of the error that has been repaired, it may prove necessary to carry out other
tests.
Basic inspection
Check if all the contacts are connected correctly.
• Check all the cables and contacts to ensure that they show no visible damage.
• Then check that the plastic protection at the base of the joystick has not been damaged. Inspect the
protection only visually. It must not be handled.
• Ensure that all the control system components are attached correctly.
• Do not re-tighten the fastening screws too tightly.
Test the brakes
This test must be undertaken on a flat surface, with a free perimeter of a minimum of one metre all
around the chair.
• Switch on the control system.
• Check that the screen is still activated after it has been switched on.
• Carefully move the joystick forwards until you hear the parking brakes activate. In certain cases, the
chair may start to move forward.
• Release the joystick immediately. You should hear the two parking brakes activate within two seconds.
• Repeat the test three times by activating the joystick towards the back, to the left and to the right
respectively.
Progress of the test
Set the maximum speed authorised to the lowest value and manoeuvre the chair in every direction whilst
ensuring that it is easy to handle and the chair is easy to manoeuvre.
Repeat the test while setting the speed control to the maximum value.
Inclining test
WARNING!
This test requires the presence of another person so that the chair does not tilt backwards.
Move the chair to one side with the maximum authorised tilt. Release the joystick when the chair is to the
side and check that the chair stops when the brakes operate correctly without the front wheels leaving the
ground.
Move the joystick forwards and continue to move sideways. Check that the chair moves very easily.
Stop the chair and go down the slope backwards. Release the joystick when the chair is to the side and
check that the chair stops when the brakes operate correctly without the front wheels leaving the ground.
