The manifold vent must be plumbed from the analyzer to a safe area at 0 psia or atmospheric vent.
To do this, connect appropriate tubing to the manifold vent (see Figure 2-3) and run this tubing to a
hazard-free area.
Figure 2-3. SIDE VIEW OF ANALYZER, SHOWING MANIFOLD VENT LOCATION
No analyzer vent should be connected to any type of collection header without engineering-level
review to address possible problems or safety issues that can result from such a connection.
Proper installation of this analyzer also requires engineering-level consideration of possible ingress of
toxic or hazardous materials into the analyzer or shelter via some types of sample system stream
select valves. While these valves are not a part of the analyzer, a failure in an air-operated "manifold"
style stream select valve can allow sample to flow into the air lines connected to the stream select
solenoids that are within the analyzer, thus contaminating the solenoid vent and causing damage to
the solenoid valve and analyzer.

The analyzer must be installed according to all applicable codes. If it will be in a hazardous area, the
wiring method must conform to the applicable explosion proof requirements.
Install signal wiring and power wiring in separate conduit pipes or cable trays to reduce noise and
crosstalk. If a grounding (earthing) connection is required, connect the appropriate size grounding
wire to the Earthing Connection on the right side of the oven compartment.
The following wiring is required, though the amount of wiring varies with the installation.
Power wiring for heater, power circuits, electronics, and grounding circuit (circuit breaker
protection must be provided by the customer). The Neutral and Ground (Earth) connections must
be at earth (0 volts) potential. Failure to maintain earth (0 volts) potential at these connection
points constitutes a serious safety hazard.
