Step 11. Install the hard disk drives (see "Installing a hot-swap drive" on page 42).
Step 12. Install the 2.5-inch HDD fillers into empty drives.
If you have other devices to install or remove, do so now. Otherwise, go to "Completing the installation"
on page 94.

Installing the 16x1.8-inch SSD assembly kit

Use this information to install the 16x1.8-inch SSD assembly kit.
To order the 16x1.8-inch SSD assembly kit, contact your Lenovo sales representative or Lenovo reseller.
The 16x1.8-inch SSD assembly kit contains the following components:
• Two 1.8-inch solid-state-drive backplane assemblies
• One power cable
• One configuration cable
• Four mini-SAS cables (820 mm)
To install the 16x1.8-inch SSD assembly kit in the server, complete the following steps.
Step 1. Read the safety information that begins on "Safety" on page v and "Installation guidelines"
on page 34.
Step 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables,
if necessary.
Step 3. Remove the cover (see "Removing the cover" on page 37).
Step 4. Remove the two 4-drive filler panels from the right side.
