3 BGP/MPLS IP VPN Configuration
3-14
Run:
network ip-address mask
The directly connected routes destined for the local CE are advertised.
NOTE
A PE automatically learns the directly connected routes destined for the local CE. The
routes learned by the PE are prior to the routes advertised by the CE through EBGP.
Therefore, if step 6 is not performed, the PE does not advertise the directly connected routes
to the peer through MP-BGP.
7.
(Optional) Run:
peer ip-address allow-as-loop [ number ]
The route loop is allowed.
This step is applicable to the Hub&Spoke networking.
Generally, BGP detects routing loops through the AS number (ASN). In the
Hub&Spoke networking, if EBGP runs between Hub-PE and Hub-CE, the routing
information advertised by the Hub-PE to the Hub-CE contains the local ASN. The
Update message sent by the Hub-CE contains the ASN of the Hub-CE; thus, the Hub-
PE cannot receive the Update message. To ensure the correct transmission of routing
information in the Hub&Spoke networking, configure the BGP peers between the
Hub-CE and the Spoke-CE to allow the routes with a repeated ASN.
8.
(Optional) Run:
peer ip-address substitute-as
The ASN substitution is enabled.
The ASN substitution feature is applicable to the network where the CEs are deployed
dispersedly and use the same ASN. This command is run on the PEs.
NOTE
Compared with a common BGP view, the BGP VPN instance view does not support the
following commands:
BGP confederation: confederation
l
BGP Graceful Restart: graceful-restart
l
Router ID of a BGP router: router-id
l
Synchronization between BGP and IGP: synchronization
l
BGP timer: timer
l
Do as follows on the CEs.
1.
Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
2.
Run:
bgp as-number
The BGP view is displayed.
3.
Run:
peer peer-address as-number as-number
The PE is configured as the BGP peer.
