Chapter 7. Operation with the Filter Panel
The Filter Panel is an optional accessory that should be used to filter sample streams that contain high levels of
suspended solids or solids having diameters larger than 200 m. The InnovOx On-Line TOC Analyzer is designed
to control up to five Filter Panels.
Refer to the GE Filter Panel Operation and Maintenance Manual for instructions on the installation and setup of
the Filter Panel.

Operation of the Filter Panel with a Sample Pump

The Filter Panel must be installed so that the water to be filtered flows through the Filter Panel. In some cases,
the water pressure in the feed line is not sufficient to flow through the Filter Panel, through the filter screen, and
to the Analyzer. In those cases, it is necessary to pump the filtered water from the Filter Panel to the Analyzer.
The InnovOx On-Line TOC Analyzer can accommodate an optional external peristaltic sample pump to
overcome inadequate line pressure. The pump is controlled by the Analyzer to draw filtered water from the Filter
Panel prior to each Sample Flush and measurement.

Control of Filter Panel

The Analyzer has two parameters related to the operation of the Filter Panel: Blowback Pulses and Sample Flow
Time. These parameters operate the blowback feature, which automatically cleans the filter screen in the Filter
Panel.
