Chapter 9: Troubleshooting

Analog Output

The performance of the 4-20 mA outputs can be checked. Press the Analog Output button on the Diagnostics
screen, and the Analog Output screen appears. If the Analog 1 button is pressed, Three buttons will appear on
the right side of the screen: 0 mA, 4.0 mA, and 20.0 mA, as shown in
The performance of the analog outputs may be checked by connecting an ammeter to the appropriate
terminals in terminal block TB1 (see
the ammeter across pins 1 and 2 in TB1. When the Analyzer is in Standby mode, the Analog Output will initially
be 1.0 mA until you press one of the buttons on the right side of the screen. Press one of the 0 mA, 4.0 mA, or
20.0 mA buttons. The ammeter displays the selected current.

Binary Output

The Binary Outputs consist of the Analysis Complete output, the System Fault alarm, and the four user-
configurable alarms. They can be checked by pressing the Binary Output button on the Diagnostics screen

217).
Refer to Tables 3 and 4, which show the electrical connections in terminal blocks TB3 and TB4. An ohmmeter
must be connected to the appropriate connections in the terminal blocks to monitor the outputs. Depending
upon which pins the ohmmeter is connected to, it will either show contact closure when the buttons are pressed
on the Binary Output screen, or it will detect the opening of the relay contacts.
N
:
When the Binary Output screen first appears, it will show the current state of the outputs. When
OTE
you exit the Binary Output screen, the outputs return to their original states.
