Chapter 6: Analyzer Operation
less than the RSD criteria, the Analyzer will stop analysis on the vial. If the calculated RSD is higher
than the RSD criteria, the Analyzer will run one more repetition and recalculate the RSD. The number
of reps used to calculated the RSD will be the Min Reps value in consecutive order. If the Analyzer
continues to not satisfy the RSD criteria, it will stop after the Max Reps number is realized and list the
final value in the report.
• Press the Flush button if you want to include one to five sample flushes, or a dilution water flush, in
the protocol. This flush occurs prior to the first measurement.
• Press the Conversion Factor button to apply a configurable factor to the final result. You can
configure up to five conversion factor equations with unique alphanumeric units by clicking on
Maintenance tab
• Press Advanced Setup to access Blank Correction, Manual Dilution, and Sparge settings. Blank
Correction can be set for On or Off. Manual Dilution is used to specify if you have diluted the
sample. The default setting of 1.0 means that the sample was not diluted manually. The final result
will be reported as full strength. The Sparge default setting of 0.8 Min has been determined to be a
sufficient sparge time for most sample matrices (with the exception of the Up to 100 ppm range,
which has a default setting of 2 min.) and is only available for NPOC mode.
• Press the Calibration button to specify which calibration to use in this protocol.

• Press the Save button to overwrite the modified protocol or press the Save As button to save as a
unique name.
• Enter a name for the new protocol, and then press the Save button. If the Save As button is selected,
you will be prompted to enter a new name. The new protocol now appears on the Protocol screen.

Press the Start Analysis button. The Sample Name screen with a keypad appears. Enter the name of the
sample for future reference, and press the Enter button. The Analyzer will start analysis and the Setup
screen appears. A "Running Grab" message also appears at the top-left of the Menu screen.

The following table lists the approximate number of repetitions that can be performed with the Analyzer when
the vial port is used to analyze samples in 40-mL vials. It is recommended that you completely fill the vial to
maximize the number of repetitions.
The number of repetitions shown for Auto Range refers to when the sample is less than 1,000 ppm, and the
instrument selects the 1,000 ppm range. If a higher range is selected, more repetitions can be made. The
maximum number of repetitions that can be selected is 20.

to the size of the vials used in the protocol.
