Chapter 6: Analyzer Operation

Setting the Fail Safe Option

If the Fail Safe accessory is installed, the Analyzer is fitted with level sensors in each sample inlet to detect when
flow has stopped in any sample stream. Level sensors are installed in the reagent, dilution water, and Check
Standard carboys. These level sensors allow the Analyzer to automatically alert you when a carboy should be
refilled.
You must set the Fail Safe option to On in order to set the instrument to inform the Analyzer NOT to analyze a
stream that is not flowing. When flow resumes in that stream, the Analyzer will measure it again in its original
sequence. You can also set the Fail Safe option to Off to disable the Fail Safe option, which is helpful when
performing maintenance procedures.
