(2) Blower Relay and Compressor Relay

Remove the seat, the seat under cover and the
relays on the right side of the air conditioner unit: blower
relay (5), blower high relay (7) and compressor relay (4).
When the blower fan is adjusted for the air flow rate, the
blower relay (5) and blower high relay (7) are activated
by a signal from the blower switch (8) on the control
panel.
Among the air conditioner components, current flows
to the blower motor (6) and magnetic clutch. If all of
these current were to be passes through the main switch
(3) and supplied, the current would be too large for the
main switch (3) so that there will be danger or burning
out the main switch contact. If the current were to be
passed directly from the battery (1), forgetting to turn off
the blower motor (6) could result in a discharged battery
(1).
To protect against such trouble, relays have been
provided. These relays have been made so that when
current flows through its coil, the contact close to supply
the power from the battery (1). By employing these
relays, the current flowing through the main switch (3)
has been decreased as only a small current is required
to actuate the relay. Thus there will be no danger of
burning out the switch contact, and when the main switch
(3) is opened, the relay contact will open at the same
time. This action stops the current flow in the air
conditioner circuit so that there will also be no chance of
the battery discharging.
