Differential Gear Assembly
1. Remove the differential support (1), (5), noting the number of left
and right shims (2), (4).
2. Take out the differential gear assembly (3) from transmission
case.
(When reassembling)
• Be sure to adjust the turning torque of spiral bevel pinion shaft
and differential assembly combined. (Refer to "6. SERVICING"
in this section.)
• Be sure to adjust the backlash and tooth contact between the
spiral bevel gear and spiral bevel pinion shaft. (Refer to "6.
SERVICING" in this section.)

Spiral Bevel Gear
1. Remove the spiral bevel gear (1).
(When reassembling)
• Check the spiral bevel gear for wear or damage. If it is no longer
serviceable, replace it. Then, also replace the spiral bevel pinion
shaft.
• Apply liquid lock (Three Bond 1372 or equivalent) to the spiral
bevel gear mounting UBS screws.
