AIR CLEANER CLEANING (Fig. 21)
Remove the saddle.
Remove the R.H. side panel rear fastening
screw (1). Unhook the side panel from the
front side of the air fi lter box. Remove the air
fi lter cover fastening screws (2) (4 pcs.), the
cover (3) then the air fi lter (4). Wash the fi lter
with a specifi c detergent (AGIP" Filter clean
foam air detergent fl uid" or similar) then dry
it fully (wash fi lter with gasoline only in case
of necessity). Plunge the fi lter in special oil
for fi lters (AGIP "Foam air fi lter protection oil"
or similar), then wring it to drain superfl uous
oil. Do not use gasoline or a low flash-
point solvent to clean the element. A fi re or
explosion could result.

Clean the element in a well ventilated area,
and do not allow sparks or fl ames anywhere
near the working area.
Carry out the cleaning operations das
described in the "periodical maintenance
card" clean the air fi lter. When running on
dirty or rough roads, we advise cleaning or
replacing the fi lter more frequently.
CAUTION*: The air filter must always
be kept serviceable, since a dirty fi lter
will cause a loss of engine power, an
excessively rich mixture, overheating
and excessive fuel consumption.
