RIDING

NOTE*: If you are not familiar with operating
the motorcycle read paragraphs on
"CONTROLS" (pag. 11) before riding this
motorcycle.
PRERIDING CHECKS
Any time you ride your motorcycle, make a
general inspection fi rst and proceed to check
the following:
- check fuel level and gearbox oil level
(page 8-24);
- check the brake fl uid level (page 35);
- check the steering by turning the handlebar
both ways;
- check the tire pressure (page 7);
- check the chain tension (page 32);
- check the twist-grip adjusting it if necessary
(page 31);

- turn the ignition switch key in IGNITION
position: check the coming on of the lights
and, with gearbox in idle position, check the
coming on of the gearbox warning light;
- check the clutch control adjusting it if
necessary (page 31);
- switch on the driving beam and check pilot
light coming on;
- operate the turn indicators and check that
the telltale comes on;
- check if the rear stop light is functioning.

ENGINE START (Fig. 11)
CAUTION
Start the vehicle in well ventilated
places.The engine exhaust gas is very
harmful.
With cold engine, as after a prolonged
inactivity of the motorcycle or in presence
of a low external temperature,
proceed as follows:
1) set ignition key (1) in IGNITION position
(the buzz that you hear when you turn the
key to IGNITION is caused by the fuel
pump which puts the feeding system under
pressure);
2) pull the starter lever (2);
3) pull the clutch lever (3);
