BATTERY (Fig.36A)
The sealed battery does not require any
maintenance work. When it needs charging,
follow these instructions:
STANDARD CHARGE: 1.4 A FOR 5÷10
hours; FAST CHARGE: 6A for approx.
1 hour. When electrolyte leaks, or other
failures to the electric system are detected,
apply to the Husqvarna Dealer. Charge
the battery scrupolously keeping to the
instructions shown on the decal set to the
upper right side of the battery. To gain access
to the battery:
- fi rst turn anticlockwise fi xing rear pin, then
remove the saddle then remove battery
elastic;
- First remove the BLUE negative cable
(1), then the RED positive cable (2) and
the battery.

When reassembling, fi rst connect the RED
cable, then the BLUE negative cable.
Remember that the life of the battery is
due to the care given and not to the time
of use, or to the Km runned, and that the
battery must always be kept clean, with its
terminals greased. When the motorcycle
is idle for long periods, charge the battery
every month.
WARNING*: For not damaging the
electric system, never start the engine
with battery disconnected from the
system.
Periodically check the correct connection of
the earth cable.
Tighten the battery cables to the torque 4
Nm/29 ft-lb.
WARNING*: The battery contains sulfuric
acid. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or
clothing. Antidote: EXTERNAL -
Flush with water. INTERNAl - Drink large
quantities of water or milk. After milk take
magnesia, beaten eggs or vegetable oil.
Call physician immediately.
Eyes: Flush with water for no less than
15 minutes and get prompt medical
attention.
WARNING*: Batteries produce explosive
gas, ventilate when charging or using in
enclosed space. When using a battery
charger before turning on the charger.
This procedure prevents sparks at the
battery terminals which could ignite any
battery gases.
