REAR BRAKE CONTROL (Fig. 9)
The rear brake foot pedal (1) is on the right
side. It controls simultaneously the rear
brake STOP light.
NOTE*: Use both brakes to avoid the
skidding of the motorcycle. With poor
road grip conditions, avoid sharp
brakings.

GEAR SHIFT (Fig. 10)
The gear shift foot lever is located on the
left side of the engine. Pushing the gear shift
lever all the way down (full stroke) shifts
transmission to the next lower gear, while
lifting the lever all the way up (full stroke)
shifts transmission to the next higher gear.
The operator must release the lever after
each gear change to allow it to return to
its central position before another gear
change can be made. Neutral position (N) is
between fi rst (low) and second gears.
FIG. 10
N: Neutral
1. Gear shift lever
First gear is the last gear position that
can be found by pushing the lever full
stroke downwards. To shift from fi rst gear
to neutral, lift lever half its full stroke. The
shift to "NEUTRAL" can also be made from
second gear by pushing lever downwards
half its full stroke. When starting the engine,
it is normally necessary to shift transmission
to neutral
position.
CAUTION*: Do not shift gears without
disengaging the clutch and closing the
throttle. The engine could be damaged
by overspeed and shock.
