Preparation Procedures

Before beginning any of the removal and replacement procedures for non-hot-pluggable
devices:
1. Turn off the server.
2. Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC outlet, then from the server.
3. Disconnect all external peripheral devices from the server.
4. For some removal and replacement procedures, you must remove the server from the
rack and place it on a sturdy table or workbench. Refer to ProLiant 1600 Servers
Supporting Pentium II Processors with 100 MHz GTL Bus Setup and Installation Guide
for instructions.
