The syntax for the no form of this command is:
no arp timeout
seconds
Example:
To set the arp timeout to one hour:
Router-N(configure)# arp timeout 3600
To restore the default arp timeout:
Router-N(configure)# no arp timeout

clear arp-cache Command

Use the clear arp-cache command to delete all dynamic entries from the ARP
cache and the IP route cache.
The syntax for this command is:
clear arp cache
Example:
Router-N(configure)# clear arp cache

ip max-arp-entries Command

Use the ip max-arp-entries command to specify the maximum number of
ARP cache entries allowed in the ARP cache. The no form of this command restores
to the default value of 4096. This command takes effect only after start-up.
The syntax for this command is:
[no] ip max-arp-entries <value>
value
Example:
To set the maximum number of ARP cache entries to 8000:
Router-N(configure)# ip max-arp-entries 8000
To restore the maximum number of ARP cache entries to its default:
Router-N(configure)# no ip max-arp-entries

in the arp cache.
The space available for the IP address table. When you decrease the
number of entries, it may cause the table to be relearned more
frequently. If you do not enter a value, then the current ARP Cache size
is shown.
