146 Planning the Nortel WLAN 2300 System

For APs that are in the network plan but are not yet deployed and managed by WLAN Management Software, the
channel number is changed to match the results of channel assignment. However, the channel is not changed for APs that
are running in the live network and are being managed by WLAN Management Software. For these APs, WLAN
Management Software displays the channels that are in use on the live APs. The planning tool will not assign channels
52, 56, 60 or 64 when using the AP-2330B in the US and Canada country code settings because these channels do not
meet local regulatory requirements for DFS compliance and have been disabled.
To make the APs in the live network use the channels assigned by RF Planning, deploy the configuration to the network.
After you deploy the configuration with the new channel settings, the channel information on the floor plan should
match the channels assigned by RF Planning.
The APs on a floor plan in RF Planning are color coded to indicate their monitored status:
Green—Up
Yellow—Up (but with minor service degradation)
Orange—Up (but with major service degradation)
Red—Down
Blue—Unknown
An AP with a blue background is not in the live network even though it is on the floor plan. The channel number for this
AP will match the channel number assigned by RF Planning. However, an AP with a green background is running in the
NN47250-102 (320666-G Version 02.01)
