5. Application installation

When DL360 G7 is used, install PetaApp/PSC V6.71 or later.
When DL360 G6 is used, install PetaApp/PSC V6.60 or later.
Record the serial number of the basic console. The serial number is needed in the installation process.

PetaApp Package Installation Procedure
(If PetaBack/PetaServe is not used in the PC server, this procedure is not required. PetaBack and
PetaServe are not supplied with PSC V6.70 or later. Perform steps later than "5-2. Procedure to Install the
PetaSite/PSC Package Only".)
(1) Connect all the cables of the PetaSite devices. (Library, Drive, FC-HBA, FC-SW)
(2) Start PetaApp Linux.
(3) Log into the root account, and start the terminal window.
(4) Insert the PetaApp Control Software [Server] CD-ROM.
(5) Open the terminal window and enter the following.
# cd /mnt/cdrom
# ./painstall

(Installation begins.)

>>OK? (y/n?) Enter "y".

Select the devices that you wish to install
Select (1/2/3/4/q) : Enter "4" (Selects the CSM)

Input the serial number of Basic Console : [ ] : Enter the serial number as below.
(For PetaApp/PSC V6.20 or later)

Sony PetaApp Server Install is Complete
(6) Shutdown.

Enter "1" and then continuously the serial number of the
basic console.
For example, if the serial number of the basic console is
"1009186", enter "11009186".
When the number is not displayed in [ ] or incorrect, execute
the painstall again.
