16. On the windows desktop, right-click Network Neighborhood, click
Properties.
The Network window displays.
17. Select the Protocol tab.
18. Double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window displays.
19. Write down the customer's numbers for IP address, Subnet mask, Default
gateway, and Preferred DNS server.
You will be entering the same information on the new board.
20. Click the DNS tab.
Write down the Host Name, Domain Name, and any information under
"DNS Service Search Order."
You will be entering the same information on the new board.
21. Click Cancel twice.
22. Click on Administer System in the Web browser (Internet Explorer) and
click Administer System > Backup & Restore.
23. Click Immediate Backup.
24. Under "Choose items for immediate backup" select DEFINITY
announcements, DEFINITY translation files, and AUDIX translations,
names, and messages.
25. From the Destination drop-down menu, select pcmcia or the path to a
network folder.
Record this location for the restore process.
NOTE:
Do not back up NT registry, NT passwords, LAC password, and
license files. They cannot be used by the R10 operating system.
NOTE:
Do not back up to a local drive, it will not exist after the new
processor board is installed.
NOTE:
If you lose the communications link or close the browser, the backup
will stop and the backup file will enter a state that prohibits a
subsequent backup to run. If you get an error message "Backup
running--can't do backup while one is running," you must escalate to
Tier 3!
NOTE:
Remember the length of audix extensions under "Default Audix
Settings."
