How to set up the 620 API Printer as a serial printer
PRINTERS
To use the 620 API (All Purpose Interface) printer
as a serial printer:
Plug an RS-232 cable with a modem
eliminator into the connector marked
"'Serial" on the back of the processor. You
can order RS-232 cables either from your
local Xerox/Diablo sales representative or
directly from Diablo. The modem eliminator
(also called a "'null modem" or "'direct connect
cable") is a common computer part which can
be found at most computer stores, or ordered
directly from Xerox.
Check to be sure the operating mode
switches are set exactly as illustrated on the
next page.
The operating mode switches for the 620 API
printer are located to the left of the external
control panel, and are covered when the front
cover is in place.
