DIAGNOSTICS
The term "diagnostics" refers to programs which
verify that the components of your system are
working properly.
In the Software Disk box that came with _your
system, you'll find a disk labeled DIAGNOSTIC
DISK. It will test the following components:
- Main Board in the Processor
- Memory (including optional board)
- Keyboard
- Display
- Parallel Interface Port
- Serial Interface Port
- Disk Ori ves
You should use the Diagnostic Disk whenever you
suspect a faulty component. The information you
collect by running this program can reduce repair
time.
Before you run diagnostics, you will need to know
the following information about your computer:
- how much memory your computer has
- whether you have one or two floppy disk drives
- whether you have a hard disk
- whether your printer is connected to the
computer's parallel port or to its serial port
- whether you have a monochrome (black and
white) or color display.
