MAINTENANCE
FRONT BRAKE PADS (DISC)
PADS
Check the brake pads for wear by locking from the front
side of the brake caliper.
Replace the brake pads if either pad is worn to the bottom
of wear limit groove.
Refer to the brake pad replacement (page 14-7).
REAR BRAKE PADS (DISC)
Check the brake pads for wear by locking from the front
side of the brake caliper.
PADS
Replace the brake pads if either pad is worn to the bottom
of wear limit groove.
Refer to the brake pad replacement (page 14-19).
REAR BRAKE SHOES (DRUM)
REFERENCE MARK ARROW
Check the wear indicator position when the brake is
applied.
If the arrow on the indicator plate aligns with the reference
mark on the brake panel, inspect the brake drum
(page 14-30).
Replace the brake shoes (page 14-31) if the drum I.D. is
within the service limit.

FRONT BRAKE

Inspect the brake hose and fittings for deterioration, cracks
and signs of leakage.
Tighten any loose fittings.
Replace hoses and fittings as required.
Firmly apply the brake lever, and check that no air has
entered the system.
If the lever feels soft or spongy when operated, bleed the
air from the system.
Refer to the brake bleeding procedures (page 14-4).
