10 Check parts or system which can cause engine rough
idle or poor performance
1) Check engine mechanical parts or system which can
cause engine rough idle or poor performance.
• Engine compression (Refer to "Compression Check in
Section 1D".)
• Valve lash (Refer to "Camshaft, Tappet and shim
Inspection in Section 1D".)
• Valve timing (Refer to "Timing Chain and Chain
Tensioner Removal and Installation in Section 1D".)
Are they in good condition?

DTC Detecting Condition and Possible Cause
DTC detecting condition
• Knock sensor voltage is 3.91 V or more.
or
• Knock sensor voltage is 1.23 V or less.
DTC Confirmation Procedure
1) Clear DTC, start engine and keep it at idle for 1 min.
2) Select "DTC" mode on scan tool and check DTC.
