Relay Broadcasting
Relay broadcasting allows one facsimile machine to send a document to another, which
then re-sends (broadcasts) the document to a number of other locations. Although this
machine is capable of initiating a relay broadcast, it will not function as a key relay
station. Key relay stations must be facsimile machines made by other companies,
which have a sub address relay function.)
Relay Broadcast Function
This function is used to relay a message to multiple offices from a unit that receives a
single message. An outline of the flow appears below.
Operations
The offices with the Konica FAX machine conduct the following tasks. Thus your
office's tasks will change depending on the status of your machine within the process.
The relay broadcast initiate office registers the relay groups and relay transfer pass-
words. The image that is to be transmitted is sent to the delivery office from this
office and this office also specifies whether a return report is needed.
The relay broadcast delivery office establishes relay groups by assigning relay func-
tions to personal mailboxes. The relay transfer password (4 digits) and group destina-
tions are then registered. A group cannot contain a combination of e-mail addresses
and telephone numbers. The office also specifies whether the delivery unit prints the
distributed image (speed access no. 27).
Note:Relay broadcasts can't be received by facsimile machines of other companies if
they don't have a password transmission function.
