Polling Transmission / Reception
Polling is a process in which documents are loaded into a machine, and the machine is
then set to wait for a call from a remote location before faxing. If the local machine is
set to hold data in memory for transmission to a remote machine when contacted, the
procedure is called polling transmission. Similarly, if the machine calls a remote
machine and receives a fax from it, the procedure is called polling reception.
