Facsimile Functions

The programming keys on the left side of the control panel of the Konica FAX9840
are there to enable simplified operation of the numerous functions provided by the
machine. The following offers a brief explanation of how to use these keys.

Navigating Operational Layers

Depending on the function type, there is a maximum of four operational layers. The
Menu/Exit, Enter, Shift Up ( ), Shift Down ( ), Shift Right ( ) and Shift Left ( )
keys allow navigation through these levels for selecting functions and their settings.
The type of functions displayed in the menus of the operational layers depends on
whether or not a document is loaded in the document feeder. If there is no document
loaded, menus of functions for operations not related to the actual sending of docu-
ments are shown. (Pressing
to the actual sending documents). Accordingly, if a document is loaded in the docu-
ment feeder, menus of functions for operations related to the actual sending of docu-
ments are shown. (Pressing
related to the actual sending of documents.)
First Operational Layer
When turned on for operation, the machine will wait in standby mode, showing the
time, machine mode and amount of memory available. By pressing Menu/Exit, the
