Welding of screws is a multi-function gun application. The screws are in-
cluded with the CR500 range at delivery.
1. Select the "Multi function gun" application, refer to section 4.2.3
"Setting the weld programs".
2. Select weld program "Welding of screws" or "Welding of ground
screws"(refer to section 4.2.3 "Setting the weld programs").
3. To use the automatic time and power values, select
manually set the time and power values, select
If you have chosen to use the automatic time and power values, go to in-
struction 7. If you want to set the time and power values manually, continue
at instruction 4.
4. Set the welding time.
5. Set the welding power.
IMPORTANT! Adjust the time and the power according to the thickness
of the metal sheet.
6. Check the set program by performing a strength test (refer to
section 4.11 "Performing strength tests").
7. Fit the multi-function gun with a proper holder and place a clip
rivet, ground screw, screw or nut in the holder (refer to section 4.6.7
"Fitting the multi-function gun").
8. Ground the welding object (refer to section 4.6.8 "Grounding the
welding object when using tools").
9. Press the multi-function gun towards the welding object. The gun
shall be pressed towards the body sheet with a manual pressure of
about 15-20 kg (33-44 lbs).
NOTE: If the pressure is too high, the weld quality will be poor. If the
pressure is too low, the weld might burn a hole in the body sheet.
10. Press and release the trigger, see Figure 1.3, to weld the clip rivet,
ground screw, screw or nut onto the body sheet.
