3. Apply liberal amount of clean engine oil to the cam
lobes and journals.
4. Position the camshaft caps according to the *■
mark.
Note
The No. 3 camshaft cap has an oil passage
from the cylinder head, be certain it is in­
stalled correctly.

5. Install the rocker arm and shaft assemblies. Tight­
en the bolts in two or three steps in the order shown
in the figure.
Tightening torque:
18—26 N m (1.8—2.7 m-kg, 13—20 ft-lb)

Caution
Be careful that the rocker arms or spacers do
not get caught between the shaft and cam­
shaft cap.

Front Housing

1. Apply engine oil to the front housing and a new
oil seal.
2. Press the oil seal into the front housing.
