Definitions of Common Terms
Definition
The paradigm where actons and/or settings for a print job are
assigned for a specific document within a specific application. For
example, if a change is made to the printer settings, it only affects the
current document within the current application. See also, Printer
Sticky.

The process of printing on both sides of a sheet of paper. For duplex
printing, the copier must have an Automatic Duplex Unit (ADU)
installed. See also Simplex.
This system consists of the Imagistics im8130/im6530 digital copier
connected to the ipc1-im8130 controller. These systems provide the
convenience of walk-up copying, scanning, and network printing from
the same device.
A local area network (LAN) standard developed by Xerox, Digital, and
Intel (IEEE 802.3). It is the most widely used LAN access method.
Token Ring is next. Ethernet is normally a shared media LAN. All
stations on the segment share the total bandwidth, which is one of 10
Mbps (Ethernet), 100 Mbps (Fast Ethernet), or 1000 Mbps (Gigabit
Ethernet).

A data packet sent through the network. There are several types of
frames, which differ in the way the data is arranged. In order for the
different nodes within a network to communicate, the same frame type
must be setup for each.
The IP address of the router that the controller uses to access devices
on other subnets.
The Imagistics controllers used to connect digital copiers to a network.
Also referred to as the device or printer.
The size of the inner margin between facing pages of a bound
document. The minimum value is 0 mm and the maximum is 150 mm.
