If the department code is invalid, the controller puts the job on hold in the
Invalid Department Code (IDC) queue. The IDC job icon is enabled on the
copier LCD touch screen. Press it to see the list of all jobs with invalid
department codes.
The controller processes Macintosh, Unix, and raw print jobs that lack a
valid department code as IDC jobs.
Printer Utility adds a submenu for IDC jobs, called Invalid, to the Print
Jobs tab.

Document Manager and Document Manager Print jobs also require a
valid department code. If the code is invalid, the controller processes the
Document Manager portion of the job normally and stores the document
in Document Manager. It treats the Print portion of the job as an IDC job.
Managing Counters
The controller keeps track of the number of pages printed, copied, and
scanned and maintains a set of counters. These statistics can be
displayed in totals or broken down by department. This topic describes
how to view the statistics and manage department counters.
All users can view the statistics maintained by the controller. If you use
department codes, you can also reset department counters and save
department statistics in a format that you can use for reporting.
Only administrators can reset the scan counters.
