14. Remove the intake tube from the top of the engine
by loosening the hose clamp on the left side and
removing the bolts (4) on the right. Once removed,
cover the intake connections to the engine to
prevent contamination. (fig. 12-28)

15. Remove the two motor mount bolts near the rear
of the engine (fig. 12-29).

16. Access and remove the two front engine mount
bolts through the cutouts on the top rear of the
firewall. Use an appropriate extension (fig. 12-30).

Note: The rear cab window is directly over the lift point
of the engine. It is important to use an engine lifting
device that is low in profile and can reach forward
between the engine and chassis (as shown in fig. 12-
30) or the rear window could be damaged. (fig. 12-31)

17. Attach a device that is capable of safely lifting the
engine to the lifting points located on the top of the
front and back of the engine. Then slide the engine
rearward, and upward to clear the radiator
supports. (fig. 12-32)
Installation
1. To install the engine, reverse the removal
procedure.
Note: When reinstalling the engine, lightly grease the
rubber motor mount surfaces to allow the engine to
slide onto them without snagging or disfiguring them.
Once the engine has been installed, make sure to
properly reconnect and install all items removed during
engine removal to ensure proper operation.
Prior to starting, make sure all fluids are at appropriate
levels and that they have not been contaminated with
dirt or debris during service. Change fluids or adjust
fluid levels as needed to ensure proper operation.
