Telescopic fork

stripping down

fork stabiliser
Remove retaining screws
(arrows)
on lork stabiliser and
take
off
lork
stabiliser.
Slacken off retaining screws (1) on
lowerlork
bridge and
pull out the
lixed tube
together with the sliding tube.
Clamp
lixed
tube at a slight angel
in
a vice using BMW
wooden
block
31 4600
(arrow).
Open drain plug (1) to drain off oil
in
telescopic lork.
Remove retaining screw
lor
damper
in
sliding tube.
Use
the quick-release
axle
to
counter-lock.
Note:
00
not re-use
the sealing ring.
Remove the cover and press
in the
spring bearing with a
suitable screwdriver until the snap ring
is
visible.
Lever outthe snap
ring
with a small screwdriver. Take out
the spring bearing, spacertube and coil spring with spring
bearing.
