Troubleshooting Lamination Problems

Bubbles along sealed
edge
Upper edge of finished
card is extruded

Temperature too high
Temperature setting at
extreme end of high side

by rollers ("hot spot" on

Troubleshooting/Diagnostics
Corrective Action
Reduce laminator's heater
temperature.
Lower temperature in proper
decrements to reach desired
temperature (Section 2, page 2-5).
Increase laminator temperature.
Insert card in exact horizontal
position.
Insert CR-80 pouch into two
foil/paper carriers to compensate
for thinness.
Insert an empty pouch to start
rollers at least two minutes prior
to laminating cards.
Note: To avoid bubbles, the
optimal temperature for a thermal
laminator is approximately 300
degrees F.
