    ID-3000 systems equipped with the optional access control interface. For purposes of these instructions, operators are de- fined as personnel who use the ID-3000 for issuing ID cards, verifying identities, searching databases and per- forming the routine maintenance and adjustments neces- sary in performing those tasks.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS ID-3000 WORKSTATION VER 2.4 System Components The ID-3000 system consists of the following compo- nents: A. Live portrait camera B. Display C. Computer D. Portrait scanner (optional) E. Keyboard F. Laminator G. Diecutter H. Film output unit Because ID-3000 systems are specially configured to meet customer requirements, your system may not have all the components shown.
  • Page 10 ID-3000 WORKSTATION VER 2.4 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Live portrait camera 11UPPER.EPS The ID-3000 live portrait camera captures the appli- cant’s color portrait for use on the ID card and for elec- tronic storage. It includes an electronic flash for consistent, high-quality portraits.

Film output unit OUTPFILM.EPS The film output unit prints a full-color ID card image (in- cluding a portrait and other images) on instant film, ready for diecutting and laminating.
  • Page 13 Laminator 14LOWER.EPS For added durability and tamper-resistance, the ID-3000 laminator provides carefully controlled heat and pres- sure for sealing the diecut ID card image inside a trans- parent security pouch.

    ID-3000 WORKSTATION VER 2.4 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Typical System Setup The typical ID-3000 system is arranged with a portrait chair facing the live portrait camera. Applicants should be positioned about 60 inches from the camera during portrait-taking. The operator should be seated facing the display and should have the keyboard, portrait camera and printers within convenient reach.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS ID-3000 WORKSTATION VER. 2.4 Returning to Previous Menus To return to the menu from which the current menu or screen was selected, press the Esc key. Repeatedly pressing the Esc key eventually returns you to the main menu.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Startup and Shutdown Starting the System Note: If the ID-3000 components are plugged into a power strip, use the power strip on/off switch to turn on all the equipment simultaneously. Then begin startup at step 2 on page 14.
