Step 1
Write 141h to SCV64 VMEbus Base Address Register to select the size and base address.
Step 2
Write 2h to SCV64 Access Protect Boundary Register to select protection of lower 128
KBytes.
Step 3
Clear the A24SLVEN bit of SCV64 Mode Control Register to disable the A24 image.
Step 4
Set the PROT bit of SCV64 Mode Control Register to select read and write access protec-
tion of slave image.
Step 5
Set VINEN bit of SCV64 Mode Control Register to enable the slave image.
Step 6
Read the BARDY bit of SCV64 Control and Status Register to make sure it is set, verifying
that the slave image has been programmed.
Step 7
Clear the VPG bit of the PT-VME161 System Control Register (address $0D000000) to
select access of lower 2GB VMEbus space.
Write the value 0 (word or longword only) to address 883FFFFCh, disabling BI-mode by
writing to the location monitor (with bit 31 of the address set).
Step 8
Do a dummy read from SCV64 Location Monitor FIFO Read Port to clear the useless loca-
tion monitor entry from above step.
Step 9
Read the BI bit of SCV64 Status Register 1, make sure it's cleared, verifying that the slave
image is now available on the VMEbus.
Example B:
To set up a 512 KByte, A32 image starting at VMEbus address 80000000h, and a 4 MByte, A24
image starting at VME address 400000h, with no image protection desired, perform the following
steps:
Step 1
Write 6800F0h to SCV64 VMEbus Base Address Register selecting the size and base
address of both A24/A32 images.
Step 2
Write 0 to SCV64 Access Protect Boundary Register selecting no protection.
Step 3
Set bit 10 of SCV64 Mode Control Register. Enable the A24 image.
Step 4
No need to program rd/wr protection bit since the no protection option is being used.
Step 5
Set the A24SLVEN bit of SCV64 Mode Control Register, enabling the slave image.
Step 6
Read the BARDY bit of SCV64 Control and Status Register, make sure it is set, verifying
that the slave image has been programmed.
Step 7
Set VPG bit of PT-VME161 System Control Register (address $0D000000) selecting
access of the upper 2GB VME space.
Write $0 (word or longword only) to address 883FFFFCh to disable BI-mode.
NOTE: If the A24 image was located in the SCV64's master A24 space, then one could also
access the location monitor at the A24 location, i.e. if the A24 image was set at address
01000000h, then a write to 804FFFFCh would access the location monitor. However,
