During flight time, the coil is de–energized. As the hammer rebounds after striking, it is recaptured by the
permanent magnet. The P300 can produce up to 1000 impacts per second, the P600 up to 1400 impacts per
second.
A dot row is created by horizontal scanning. All dots in any row of the dot matrix are printed in a single
scan as the shuttle moves from one side to the other. One character is formed by a single print hammer
striking successive strokes in each row during a series of scans.
