a. Mechanical Switch Check
1.
With paper loaded and printer running, move Forms Thickness Lever to open. Paper motion
should stop within two seconds.
2.
With paper loaded and printer running, allow paper to run out. Paper motion should stop within
two seconds. (On machines with B7, B9, or B10 logic PCBAs, there is an option to set E13 – E14
in, so that paper motion stops after printing two inches versus stopping immediately.) This should
occur for forms thickness settings anywhere between 1 and 6.
b. Mechanical Switch Adjustment
1.
Load paper and apply power.
2.
Set Forms Thickness Lever (1) to position 1.
3.
Gain access to equipment by performing steps 1 through 6 of paragraph 5–18a. Do not disconnect
power cord.
4.
Rotate shaft (2) until space between nylon button (3) and platen (4) is between 0.010 and 0.020
inches wide.
5.
Move Forms Thickness Lever (1) 1/4 to 1/2 inch past position 6 toward the fully open position.
6.
If error indication is on at the control panel, rotate shaft (2) counterclockwise until it goes off.
