Chart 13 : Banging when changing gears in no load
If the warning light is operational and it remains extinguished when there is a
fault, check the oil level and top up if necessary.
Check the vacuum pipe
(pinched at mountings...)
Is the pipe in good condition?
Check the oil pressure at 37 mph (60 km/h), no load, in 3rd
gear, AT warm.
Is the value between 3.2 and 3.6 bars ?
yes
If the banging is only present when changing
2/3,check the conformity of the hydraulic
distributor plate.
Refer to the hydraulic distributor section of the
Workshop Repair Manual.
