Measure the dimension C.
Calculate the thickness E of shim (19).
The total clearance is equal to:
The thickness of the shim is equal to: E = JT - 0.4
Example:
A = 158.2 mm
B = 156.9 mm
C = 1.3 mm
X = A - B = 158.2 - 156.9 = 1.3 mm
JT = X + C = 1.3 + 1.3 = 2.6 mm
Shim thickness: E = 2.6 - 0.4 = 2.2 mm
Thickness of shims available: 1.5 mm ; 2 ; 2.6 ; 3.2
In this case, select the 2 mm shim which should give the clearance closest to 0.4 mm.
