Fault finding using bargraph illumination

Bargraph 8RH: EL2:

Before starting to work on a vehicle with a load potentiometer specific to the automatic transmission, look
for any short circuits between tracks B and C of the potentiometer. (This fault causes a drop in overall 5 volts
feed voltage and a solenoid pilot valve fault to be memorised).
Enter *28 on the XR25 keypad. What is displayed?
CO
Check the 3 track connector of the solenoid pilot
valves on the computer. After checking /
repairing the wiring,
does the fault persist?
yes
Disconnect the connector on the sealed connector.
On the sealed connector side, is there a resistance of
25 5 between tracks C and A?
yes
Check the continuities
on the solenoid pilot
valve wires.
Are the continuities ensured?
no
Replace the wire.
* And vehicles with load information supplied by the injection computer.
(Without load potentiometer specific to the automatic transmission).

Replace the solenoid
pilot valves.
yes
Replace the computer and erase the memory.
Validate the full load and no load values on version E7J*.

Disconnect the connector on the sealed connector.
On the sealed connector side, what resistance is there
between tracks C and A?
approximately 0
Disconnect the solenoid pilot valve wire and
check the insulation between tracks C and A.
Replace the wire.
