Chart 53 : Warning light does not illuminate when
Disconnect the 3 track MIC connector or the 2 track connector (depending on
computer version) supplying the warning light and earth track A of the MIC
connector or the warning light output on the 2 track connector.
Does the warning light illuminate when the ignition is turned on?
yes
Replace the computer if the fault persists after
checking the connections on the warning light
connector and the computer earth.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Fault finding aid
ignition turned on.
Check the condition of the instrument panel
fuse. If the vehicle has a diagnostic socket,
check its condition and the presence of the
shunt in the cover. Check the warning light
bulb and the continuity between the computer
output and the warning light.
