Position the lip seal (oiled) using tool B. Vi. 1402
(take care not to allow dirt to enter when fitting
the seal).
Refit the converter, lubricating the face of the seal
with automatic transmission oil.

transmissions were manufactured, the converter
casing may or may not have grooves (2) and (3).
If the casing does have grooves, follow the in-
structions below:
- remove the sharp edges of the grooves (2) and
(3) at the bore,
- after fitting the seal, fill grooves (2) and (3)
